The Bangs Lady Dragons volleyball program begins its second stint under head coach Colleen Westfall’s leadership in August, with the first match of the season slated for Aug. 13.
Westfall previously coached Bangs during the 2012 and 2013 campaigns, leading the Lady Dragons to a 35-20 overall mark.
Bangs’ first game will be at Abilene TLCA on Tuesday, Aug. 13, followed by an appearance in the Veribest Falcon Fest tournament Aug. 16-17. The Lady Dragons’ home opener is set for Aug. 20 against Brady.
Other pre-district highlights include the Heart of Texas tournament Aug. 22-24 and the Bronte tournament Aug. 30-31.
The Lady Dragons will also host Dublin (Aug. 27), Woodson (Sept. 14), and Snyder (Sept. 21) before district action begins.
Additional pre-district road matches include trips to the Brownwood (Sept. 3), Brady (Sept. 7), Rochelle (Sept. 10), Ballinger (Sept. 17) and Bronte (Sept. 24).
The District 5-2A slate kicks off Sept. 28 at home against Coleman and wraps up Oct. 25 at Hamilton. Bangs will also face Hico and De Leon during the eight-game league slate.
The Lady Dragons posted a 15-14 record in 2023, placed third in district and were bi-district finalists.
