Paula Jean Newton

Paula Jean Newton, age 81 of Brownwood, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. The family will host a visitation on Friday, July 26 from 5 to 7 PM at Heartland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27 at 1 PM in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Hamilton.

Paula was born on March 11, 1943 in Cottage Grove, Oregon and was raised by Ross and Rosetta (Loucks) Brown. She graduated from school in Sheridan, Wyoming and went on to marry the love of her life, Boyce Newton on June 3, 1973 in Nevada. The couple was blessed with seven children. Paula was a housewife the majority of her life and treasured that role. She loved being a mother and especially a grandmother. There was never a baby she didn’t want to hold and love on. Paula loved cooking for her family and had several dishes that were highly requested.

Paula had lived in Brownwood since 1980 was a longtime member of the Church of Christ. She will be remembered by those closest to her for her sassy attitude and witty comebacks. Paula will be greatly missed by so many, with most important person being the love of her life for 51 years.

Paula is survived by her husband, Boyce Newton; children, Richard Newton of Boise, Idaho, Rodney Newton and wife Trease of Brownwood, Madeline Hurt of Black Foot, Idaho, Clarence and wife Tina, Lola Worm, BJ Newton, Claudine Balfour and husband Andrew, all of Brownwood; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren, as well as many close friends. Paula was preceded in death by both of her parents.
