Commissioners to Meet on Monday

The Brown County Commissioners Court will meet Monday 9:00 a.m. in the Brown County Courthouse.  Below is the agenda for the meeting.  Immediately after the meeting, the Commissioners will hold a budget workshop for the 2024/2025 fiscal year, which begins October 1, 2024.

AGENDA

I.  Declare a quorum and call meeting to order.

II. Prayer

III.  Citizen Comments

IV.  Approval of the agenda minutes from the previous regular meeting held on 7/8/24, and the budget meeting(s) held on 7/8/24 and 7/9/24.

V.  Acceptance of Treasurer’s/Auditor’s Reports

VI.  Consider and take appropriate action to reinstate a county-wide burn ban.

VII.  Employee/Pay Changes

A.  Sheriff’s Department

B.  District Clerk

C.  County Clerk

D.  Tax-Assessor Collector

E.  County Attorney

VIII.  Resolution and Presentations

IX.  Public Hearings

X.  Business to be discussed and considered for approval:

A.  Consideration and possible approval of action regarding Election Building roof repairs.  Presented by Judge Britton.

B.  Consideration and possible approval of action to create a policy regarding employee salaries.  Presented by Cheryl Jones, District Clerk, Sharon Ferguson, County Clerks, and Christine Pentecost, Tax Assessor

C.  Consideration and possible approval of application to install a private line on C.R. 234 by Brookesmith Special Utility District for Precinct 1.  Presented by Commissioner Gary Worley.

XI.  Financial – Payment of bills.
