Denise Kincaid, age 67, entered eternal rest from her home on June 27, 2024 surrounded by family. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 30th from 4pm – 6pm at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. Funeral services for Denise will be held Monday, July 1st at 2pm in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services to follow at Rocky Creek Cemetery.
Denise was born on April 14, 1957 in Albuquerque, New Mexico but spent most of her childhood and adult life in Midland, Texas before retiring to Lake Brownwood, Texas in 2022. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1975. She met the love of her life and soul mate, Mark Kincaid, in 1976. After they moved to Austin together, she made the executive decision that they would then be married and later insisted that everyone acknowledge that year when referencing their wedding anniversary. They made it official on August 10, 1981. In an effort to appease her one last time, we shall note that they spent a wonderful 48 years together and had a love for each other that people can only dream of. Their marriage was truly one to be adored and so very precious. They cared for each other with the most heart and unconditional love that one could have.
In 1985, they welcomed a daughter, Kimber Michelle into the world. Denise was so extremely protective of her baby. She didn’t even allow people to visit for a few months! She was an excellent mother and poured her love of books and education into raising Kimber. She wasn’t a regular mom, she was a cool mom, and Kimber’s friends all loved her as their own.
In 2005, Denise became a grandmother to Abbygail Michelle. We just thought she was a great mom; she was an even better Nana. She quit working in order to babysit Abby every day and they spent the days playing, crafting, shopping, and having the best time together. As Abby entered into grade school, she would pick Abby up from school each day; maintaining a daily presence in her life. They truly had a special bond and unique relationship. Denise loved spoiling her Baby Girl and giving her anything and everything she wanted, even though Abby never did talk her into dying her hair blue or getting a tattoo.
She loved her girls with her whole heart and soul and she made sure they knew it and knew how incredibly proud she was of them.
Denise loved reading, gardening, cooking, and gambling. She could read a book a day if you let her and really enjoyed romance novels. Denise loved plants and flowers and never had too many. She could revive any dead plant Kimber brought her. She has passed her love and talent for gardening on to Abby. She loved hummingbirds and lady bugs. Denise was a fantastic cook and was famous for her spaghetti, stew, mashed potatoes, and so much more. She loved frequenting casinos and was a great poker player. You never knew what she had in her hand! Denise enjoyed playing locally in Midland and later, she and Kimber played in the World Series of Poker in 2015. One of Kimber’s fondest memories of playing poker with her mom is when Denise asked Kimber to be her partner in a tag team event.
Although, she was somewhat of an introvert, Denise touched many lives and was loved by a village. She is preceded in death by her father, Victor Dieringer Sr., brother, Victor Dieringer Jr., mother, Margaret Dieringer, brother-in-laws, Wayne Jeansonne, James Crow, and Brad Kincaid, mother-in-law Rosa Lee Plott, and her lifelong best friend, Brenda Walker Wallace. She is survived by her husband, Mark, daughter Kimber Kincaid (Dale Callen), granddaughter, Abbygail Kincaid (Nigel Wallace), sisters, Marsha (Jerry) Williams, Pam Jeansonne, brother, Wayne (Diane) Dieringer, father-in-law, Eddie Wolf, and special sisters-in-law, Cindy (Shala) Wolf, Janey Lynch, and Theresa Wiggins (Don Edwards) and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to sincerely thank the Solaris hospice staff who have been absolutely amazing in Denise’s final days on earth. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure she was as comfortable as possible and this truly meant so much to her loved ones.
