Carolyn E. Stone, age 85, of Wichita Falls, passed away on June 25, 2024. Funeral services for Carolyn will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 29, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00 PM.

Carolyn was born to Durwood and Lillie Woods on September 10, 1938, in Brownwood. She graduated from Santa Anna High School and then married the love of her life, Bill Stone, on August 1, 1958, in Monahans, Texas.

In addition to being a housewife and mother, Carolyn was employed in the electric utilities industry for 10 years before her retirement. When Billy and Holly were young, Carolyn was a devoted Den leader for both Cub Scouts and Webelos. Carolyn was a longtime member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Brownwood, before moving to Wichita Falls. She was a joy to be around and blessed her family by coordinating their annual family reunion. Carolyn liked painting, sewing, attending bible studies, but spending time loving on her grandchildren was most important to her.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Billy Stone Jr. and his wife Dawn; his daughter, Holly Steel and her husband Mark; granddaughter, Darbie Edwards and husband Adam and their children, Talynn, Trigg, Brayden, Carter; Haylie Garrett and husband Zac and their children, Kuttar, Kreid, and Spade; Sydnie Ridinger and husband Art and their children Knox, Knyte, and Knash; Tyler Steel and wife Natilee and their children Easton, Stetson, and Copelynn; Lainie Crain and husband Carter and their children Brigz and Lawsyn; grandson, Michael Stone and wife Becky and their sons, Waylon and William; granddaughter, Jessica Miller and husband Cody and their daughter, Alivia; her brother, Billy Norman Woods, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother; 2 sisters; her husband Bill Stone; and great grandson, Spade.

Online condolences, memories and tributes can be made to the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
