Jerry ‘Jake’ Royce Lewis

Jerry “Jake” Royce Lewis, age 77, passed away on June 15, 2024, at his home in Brownwood, Texas. A memorial service to celebrate Jake’s life will be held at later date.

Jake was born in Gorman, Texas, to Bessie May Kinsey and Eugene Manuel Lewis. Jake worked in the oilfield on pulling units when the oilfield was busy, when it wasn’t he moved back to Brownwood area and was great at trading things and making things work. Jake was known for his personality, he never met a stranger. Jake had a knack for striking up conversations and loved sharing stories and treasures he found throughout his life’s journey. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Jake is survived by his wife, Jackie Lewis, and their three sons: Dwayne Lewis and wife Kathryn Lewis, Aaron Lewis and wife Heather Lewis and Jerry Lewis and wife Gigi Lewis, 9 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Jake is also survived by four brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jake was predeceased by his parents, Bessie May and Eugene Manuel Lewis, three brothers, and his infant son, Bradley Royce Lewis.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A memorial service to celebrate Jake’s life will be held at later date.
