June Sales Tax Allocations Down in All Three Brown County Cities

The June sales tax allocation information was released today by the Texas Comptroller’s Office, and the allocations were down for all three cities in Brown County.  Bangs is still showing an increase in sales tax allocation year-to-date, however.  The June sales tax allocations reflect taxable retail sales in the month of April 2024.  Details below.

BROWNWOOD

The City of Brownwood received $562,115, down 3.42% compared to June 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date (October 2023 through June 2024) Brownwood has received $5,313,544, down 1.62% vs. the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $186,556, down 2.85% compared to June 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date the Brownwood MDD has received $1,733,329, down 0.62% vs. the previous fiscal year-to-date.

EARLY

The City of Early received $197,245, down 15.20% compared to June 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date Early has received $1,840,112, down 10.32% vs. the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Early Municipal Development District received $64,934, down 15.30% compared to June 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date the Early MDD has received $599,288, down 10.74% vs. the previous fiscal year-to-date.

BANGS

The City of Bangs received $18,298, down 2.34% compared to June 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date Bangs has received $193,976, up 5.32% vs. the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Bangs Municipal Development District received $2,887, up 1.40% compared to June 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $27,966, up 4.43% vs. the previous fiscal year-to-date.
