Lynda Carol Owens, age 75, of Brownwood, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

Lynda was born on January 22, 1949 to Dewitt Welch and Shirley Twilligear in Brownwood. After graduating for high school, she attended nursing school and became a licensed vocational nurse. Lynda remained an LVN all of her working career until she retired.

Lynda is survived by her husband of 52 years, Sammy Riley Owens of Brownwood; her son, Patrick Laird of Brownwood; two grandchildren, David Laird of Queensland Australia and Teri Laird of Orlando Florida; brother, Dewitt Welch III of De Leon; and her niece, Carey Liendo of Comanche.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Terry Laird.
