On Sunday, June 2, Brownwood ISD superintendent Dr. Joe Young was honored by the Texas High School Athletic Director Association (THSADA) as the first recipient of the THSADA Superintendent of the Year award.

The award was presented during the annual ceremony held during the 2024 THSADA state conference. Young also serves on the board of directors for THSADA. The award is presented to a Texas Superintendent who has made a significant contribution to the THSADA and that has impacted high school activities.

Dr. Young served previously as Athletic Director at Grapeland ISD followed by Athletic Director at Corsicana ISD prior to his advancement into the administrative role as Deputy Superintendent position at CISD.

Dr. Young has served as Superintendent of Brownwood ISD since 2016.
