Ed Roy Plachy, 79, of Bangs, Texas passed away Friday, May 24, 2024. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 4, 2024 in the Bangs Cemetery.

Ed Roy, also known as preacher, was born August 2, 1944 in Beeville, Texas to Frank and Violet Wynona (Vines) Plachy. Ed Roy attended high school in Beeville and married Mabel Eason. Ed Roy and Mabel were married many years and moved back to the Bangs area to be close to Mabel’s family. Ed Roy worked for R&S Industries on Ross Road in Early and Jimmy King moving houses for over 20 years. Ed Roy enjoyed his community and his family.

Ed Roy is survived by his step-son, Lonnie Pittman of Bangs; niece, Elizabeth Kleman of Bangs; great niece Jennifer Kleman of Bangs; brothers, Paul Plachy of Rochester, Massachusetts, Jerry Plachy, Joseph Plachy & Frank Plachy of West Plains, Missouri; a loving church family with the Bangs First Baptist Church and many friends.

Ed Roy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mabel Plachy and his parents.
