In a resounding recognition of dedication and excellence in education, Ranger College is proud to announce that 12 of its esteemed faculty and staff members have been honored with the prestigious NISOD Excellence Award at the recent National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) conference in Austin, Texas.

Every year, the NISOD conference stands as a testament to the enduring commitment of educators and staff across the nation. This year, under the thoughtful leadership of President Worrels, our institution nominated a dozen exemplary employees, each of whom has made significant contributions to the academic and social fabric of our campus community.

The 2024 NISOD Excellence Award recipients from Ranger College are as follows:

  • Ed Barnes, Biology Instructor, Erath County Center

  • Robert Culverhouse, AVP of Technology

  • Evelyn Guillen, HSI Project Director

  • Don Hilton, Director of Financial Aid

  • Louise Knight, Accounts Payable Specialist

  • Kathy Lucky, Assistant to the Dean of Student Life

  • Krystal Ostdiek, Mathematics Instructor, Erath County Center

  • Jonathan Roach, Dean of Behavioral and Social Sciences

  • Travis Rogers, Assistant Director of Physical Plants

  • Kim Sandford, Generalist, Brown County Center

  • Kenette Shaw, Director of Workforce Development

  • Alta Yeats, Administrative Assistant, Brown County Center

“We are immensely proud to see the hard work and innovative spirit of our team members acknowledged on a national stage,” said President Worrels. “Each award recipient has shown commitment to fostering an environment of growth, learning, and success for our students. They embody the values that Ranger College holds dear, and it is an honor to have them as part of our family.”

The NISOD Excellence Awards were established to recognize individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to teaching, leadership, and learning. The accolades given to our faculty and staff members are a reflection not only of their individual achievements but also of our collective pursuit of educational excellence.

Please join us in celebrating the remarkable achievements of our 2024 NISOD Excellence Award winners. It is through their efforts that Ranger College continues to provide a transformative educational experience to all our students.
