Sherry Singleton Johnston

Sherry Singleton Johnston, passed away on May 25, 2024 with her family by her side at the age of 79. Her family will host a visitation on Thursday, May 30th from 6 to 8pm at Heartland Funeral Home in Early.

Sherry was born on July 11, 1944 in Fontana Dam, North Carolina to Luther and Audrey Pearce. She attended and graduated high school in Brownwood. On October 1, 1991 Sherry married Woodie Johnston in Austin, Texas. She loved gardening and crafts. Sherry enjoyed bowling and was a member of a bowling team, called the Armadillos. Sherry loved to travel, watching Nascar races, playing volleyball and fishing. But her favorite place to be was with Woodie. Sherry worked for Texas Highway Department for over 30 years until retiring. She was a loving wife, mother, memaw and friend, who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Woodie Johnston of Austin, Texas; son Burk Singleton and wife Toni of Brownwood, Texas; grandson Taylor Singleton and wife Brynn of Early, Texas; granddaughter Sydney Turner and husband Xavier of Brownwood, Texas; 4 great grandchildren, Willow Perry, Ayden Turner, Finley Turner and Hayes Turner.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Randolph Pearce and Audrey Grace Smithwick Pearce; brother Doug Pearce, and sister Kaye Hudson.
