Daniel Lee Morgan, 69, of Rising Star, Texas passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 in Brownwood, Texas. A graveside service will be held at the Long Branch Cemetery, Rising Star, Texas at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 24, 2024 with Murrey Day officiating.

Daniel was born January 29, 1955 in Lubbock, Texas to Walter Ray Morgan Sr. and Mary Ruth (Adian) Morgan. He grew up in Big Spring, Texas, graduated from Big Spring High School and attended college at Hardin Simmons in Abilene. Daniel worked for the City of Big Spring in the water department reading meters. Daniel loved to play Bingo at the Lake Hills Nursing Home. He was a writer, and loved to write stories, share stories with family, friends and other residents of Lake Hills. He always wore his cowboy hat and called his brother every day, sometimes many times a day. His favorite cake was carrot cake and nothing made him happier than for family to come visit.

Daniel is survived by his sister, Lynda Faye Faulkner of Rising Star, Texas brother, David Frank Morgan of Rising Star; niece, Christy Rains; great nephew, Christian Rains all of Rising Star; great niece, Scarlett Hatchett of Rochelle, Texas; and many friends.

Daniel was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Ray Morgan Jr.; his parents, Walter Ray Sr. and Mary Ruth Morgan; and his nephew, Michael Stephen Faulkner.
