Coleman County Medical Center was recently named one of the top 20 Critical Access Hospitals for ‘Best Practice – Patient Satisfaction’ in the country. Determined by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, the rankings were recently announced by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA).

The top 20 CAHs have achieved success in overall performance based on a composite rating from eight indices of strength: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge, and finance. This group was selected from the Chartis Center for Rural Health’s 2024 top 100 CAH list, which was released earlier this year. There are 1,353 critical access hospitals in the U.S., with 82 located in Texas.  Only 4 Texas critical access hospitals, including Coleman County Medical Center, were included on the 2024 lists of Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals, Top 20 Best Practice Recipients for Quality and Top 20 Best Practice Recipients for Patient Satisfaction.

An awards ceremony will be held during NRHA’s Critical Access Hospital Conference in September in Kansas City, Mo. where Coleman County Medical Center will be recognized.
