Brownwood-Ingleside location finalized, 2024 football schedule set

Aaron Edmonds (10) and the Brownwood Lions kick off the regular season at Gordon Wood Stadium on Friday, Aug. 30 against Abilene Wylie.

Brownwood Lions head football coach and athletic director Sammy Burnett announced Monday that a location for the 2024 neutral site varsity football game between the Brownwood Lions and Ingleside Mustangs has been set.

The Lions will face Ingleside at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at Boerne ISD Stadium in Boerne in the final game prior to the start of Brownwood’s District 4-4A Division I slate of games.

With the schedule finalized, Brownwood will play all its games on Friday nights this fall, and all but one will begin at 7:30 p.m. There lone 7 p.m. start on the schedule is Week 2 at Wall on Friday, Sept. 6.

The Lions are coming off a 12-2 campaign in 2023 and a trip to the Class 4A Division I state quarterfinals.

The complete Brownwood Lions 2024 varsity football schedule is as follows:

Aug. 22 at Alvarado 7 p.m.
Aug. 30 Abilene Wylie 7:30 p.m.
Sept. 6 at Wall 7 p.m.
Sept. 13 Glen Rose 7:30 p.m.
Sept. 20 Waco La Vega 7:30 p.m.
Sept. 27 at China Spring 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 4 Ingleside (at Boerne) 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 11 at Lampasas 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 18 OPEN
Oct. 25 Burnet# 7:30 p.m.
Nov. 1 at Stephenville 7:30 p.m.
Nov. 8 Marble Falls 7:30 p.m.
