Jesse Garcia ‘Chuy’ Lopez

Jesse Garcia “Chuy” Lopez, 76 of Brownwood, passed away on Tuesday, April 23rd in Brownwood, Texas. A Memorial Services will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 11 am at Brownwood Funeral Home with Minister Justin Gowin officiating.

Jesse was born in Hardin, Montana to Augustin Lopez and Salome Garcia on July 29th, 1947. He received his primary education from De Leon Independent School District in De Leon, Texas. Jesse married Angelita Galvan in December of 1964 in Dickens, Texas. He was a hard worker and was employed by Three Gs Roofing and Smith’s Roofing over the years. In his spare time, Jesse enjoyed playing pool, scratching lottery tickets, and playing slot machines.

Jesse was preceded in death by his father: Agustin Lopez; mother: Salome Lopez; son: Jesse G. Lopez; daughter: Dianna Lopez; 4 brothers: Arturo Lopez, Julian Lopez, Margarito Lopez, and Juan Lopez; 4 sisters: Felicitas Martinez, Madalena Herrera, A’lejandra Martinez, and Christina Barela; granddaughter: Adrian Dream Moreno; son-in-law: David Moreno

He is survived by his wife Angelita Galvan Lopez; son: Rollie Galvan Lopez; daughter: Sylvia Lopez Moreno; brother: Agustin Garcia Lopez, granddaughter: Alisiabel Angel Lopez; 5 grandsons: David Anthony Moreno, Jeremy David Moreno, Christopher David Moreno (significant other Alyssa), Andres David Moreno, and Isaiah Alexander Moreno; 4 great- grandsons: Jakob Moreno, Eziekel Moreno, Jeremiah Moreno, and Ian Moreno; great-granddaughter: Adalyn Grace Moreno; 2 great-great-granddaughters: Sophia Moreno and Kennedi Moreno.
