A Quilt of Valor is a handmade quilt that is awarded to a service member or veteran that has been touched by war.  The quilt is a thank you for their service and sacrifice in serving our nation.  Three quilts were given to local veterans at this years quilt show.  The quilts were presented by Vita Weehunt, owner of Quilters Hide Out in Early.  Quilters Hide Out is the local shop representing the Quilt of Valor Foundation.  The quilts are made by members of the Brownwood Quilters Guild as well as other local quilters and are a labor of love.  It is an honor to be able to bless our veterans in this way.

The veterans honored this year are Scott Anderson, Zachary Arduini, and Jodie Parsons.

Scott Anderson – National Guard – served in Afghanistan – Purple Heart – Bronze Star – Combat Medic

Zachary Arduini – Marine Corp – served in Haiti and coast of Italy during attack of Benghazi

Jodie Parsons – Marine Corp – served in Vietnam – Purple Heart – Bronze Star
