Mike Fitzgerald

Mike Fitzgerald, 78, of San Saba, Texas, passed away at St. David’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas, on April 26, 2024. Visitation for Mike will be held on Friday, May 03, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at China Creek Cemetery followed by the Graveside service at 11:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Pastor James Jones. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba.

Mike was born to Joe A. Fitzgerald and Marion A. Eikam on November 08, 1945 in Kingsville, Texas. Mike graduated from Richland Springs High School in 1966 and in 1969 he enlisted into the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country. After the service, Mike worked as a maintenance supervisor for an apartment complex in Irving, Texas. He loved farming, his cows, and was a passionate bass fisherman. He was known to be a great knife sharpener and he absolutely loved his dogs.

Mike is survived by his sister, Cathy Sawyer and husband Johnny of Llano; a nephew, Anthony Sawyer; a niece, Kerri Laffoon; two great nieces, Victoria Durant, and Courtney Ralph; great-great-niece, Avery Ralph; an aunt, Fay Lusty and her husband Darrell; and his best friend, Franky Soto and wife Esmeralda of Richland Springs.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

Memorials in Mike’s name can be made to the C.A.S.T. For Kids Foundation.
