Hendrick Regional Blood Center (HRBC) of Abilene has added a third mobile donation bus to its fleet for blood drives in Abilene and the region including Brownwood.

Public and Media partners are welcome to tour the new blood mobile on Monday, April 29, 2024, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood main entrance, 1501 Burnett Road.

The HRBC supplies blood products to 21 hospitals in its 19-county region. The third blood mobile ensures the ability to travel throughout the service area to reach regional donors who help HRBC maintain a needed level of blood supplies. Features of the new blood mobile include the ability to offer double red cell donation, slightly more interior room and sturdy steps and railing to enter and exit the bus with greater ease.
