Event Center Grand Opening Preview set for June 15

The City of Brownwood will hold their inaugural public event on Saturday, June 15th to celebrate the opening of the Brownwood Event Center Complex (located at 601 E Baker Street) to showcase this state-of-the-art facility to the community.

The Brownwood Event Center Grand Opening Preview will be a public event that will provide an opportunity to tour the new facility and will feature a variety of food trucks, family activities and live music to showcase the capabilities of the new complex.

“We are excited to open the new Brownwood Event Center Complex to the public during our inaugural event,” said Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes.  “We invite the public to be the first to enjoy this wonderful new facility that will benefit the citizens of Brownwood for generations to come.”

The event will take place on Saturday, June 15th, from 3 PM to 9 PM. Please join us for an evening filled with fun for the whole family.

Schedule and Activities:

  • Facility Tours: Preview the Brownwood Event Center Complex and explore the versatile event spaces. Facility tours will be offered from 3 pm to 6 pm.
  • Food Trucks on Site: Enjoy a variety of delicious food options from a selection of popular food trucks, available from 3 pm to 9 pm.
  • Live Music on the Main Stage: Picnic on Reunion lawn, a 1.5 acre irrigated greenspace, while you enjoy live music performances throughout the evening. The current lineup features local favorites: Cadillac Thieves, The Remedy, Throttleneck Tx, McKenna Kosowski, and Callahan Divide.
  • Family Activities & Outdoor Games: Keep the whole family entertained with a variety of fun activities and games from 3 pm to 6 pm.
  • Lehnis Railroad Museum & Visitor Center Extended Hours: Enjoy free admission and complimentary mini train rides at the Lehnis facility until 5 pm.

About the Brownwood Event Center Complex: 
Located in the heart of the new Downtown Convention and Events District, the Brownwood Event Center Complex originally built as a warehouse for the Radford Grocery Company in the 1920s has been converted into a state-of-the-art multipurpose event center with spaces for conventions, special events, and premier concerts.

The goal of this project is to create a new rentable multipurpose event space with indoor and outdoor components to help facilitate events and conventions that will create a positive economic impact on the local economy and business growth and further compliment downtown revitalization efforts.
