Bangs finishes third in a pair of events at Region I-2A track meet

CANYON – The Bangs Lady Dragons earned a pair of third-place finishes at the Region I-2A track and field meet hosted by West Texas A&M Friday and Saturday, and are hopeful a wild card berth will come there way and thus a trip to the UIL Class 2A Track and Field State Championships.

On Friday, Kasey Solis placed third in girls long jump (17-10.75) while on Saturday, the Lady Dragons 4×100 relay of Valerie Razo, Raylee Hutchins, Abby Wolf and Kasey Solis (50.12) also came in third.

The Lady Dragons generated 28 points and placed sixth as a team while the Dragons generated 5 points.

Other Bangs regional results are as follows:

  • Kasey Solis fourth in girls triple jump (35-9.5)
  • Kenny Cole fourth in the boys 110-meter hurdles (15.79)
  • Abby Wolf fourth in the girls long jump (17-8.25)
  • Kasey Solis fifth in girls 100 meters (12.74)
  • Hunter Hudnall sixth in the boys long jump (20-5.25)
  • Kasey Solis eighth in the girls 200 meters (27.32)
  • Mattisyn Taylor ninth in the girls discus (97-11)
  • Julia Scantling 14th in the 100-meter hurdles (17.92)
