LUBBOCK – The District 6-4A champion Brownwood Lady Lions golf team posted a 370 team score Wednesday and sits in eighth place following the first round of the 36-hole, two-day Region I-4A girls golf tournament at Shadow Hills Golf Course.

River Jones paced the Lady Lions with a round of 89 trailed by London England with a 90, Tristyn Garcia with a 92, Adrianna Allen with a 99 and Riley Morton with a 100.

Brownwood trails leader Andrews Black (308), second-place Seminole (313), third-place Canyon (314), fourth-place Glen Rose (354), fifth-place Sweetwater (358), sixth-place Dumas (366) and seventh-place Levelland (368) heading into Thursday’s final 18 holes.

The top three teams advance to the UIL Class 4A Girls Golf State Tournament at Legends Golf Course in Kingsland May 6-7.
