Edwin Matthew Fowler, age 65, passed away on April 13, 2024, in his hometown of Brownwood, Texas. Edwin was born in Fort Hood, Texas to Eddie Ray Fowler and Joyce Moore Fowler, also of Brownwood.

Edwin was a graduate of Brownwood High School, class of 1976, and continued his education at Texas State University and the University of Texas in Austin. He became a published writer and had a career with the Internal Revenue Service. Later, he worked for the Texas Workforce Commission, processing computer data.

Edwin is survived by three sisters — Sharma Fowler Wall, Rayla Fowler Stiles, and Tamara Leigh Fowler. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his older brother, Craig Houston Fowler, and his brother-in-law, David Dean Stiles. Edwin is also survived by three nephews and one niece — Raef Darian Wall, Nathan Matthew Stiles and wife April Borromeo Stiles, Lauren Stiles Arzymanow and husband Nicholas George Arzymanow, and Ryker Middleton. Surviving grand nephews and nieces are Shreece Karolyn Alexander and daughter Karter Nicole, Rylan David Wall, Ross Dean Wall, Brynn Leigh Wall, Mikaela Joann Daniels; Ezra Henrietta Stiles, Desilu Dean Stiles, Nellie Bell Stiles; Hayden Nicholas Arzymanow, Kaitlyn Nicole Arzymanow; and Finn Middleton. Edwin is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins, neighbors, friends, and cats who loved him.

Edwin had many interests such as blogging, maintaining connections with childhood friends, and jamming on his guitar with his musician buddies. His keen intellect prompted him to expand his knowledge in a multitude of fields including politics, debate, and economics. He achieved his retirement dream of owning a home on Lake Brownwood.

Edwin will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private family service will be held at later date.
