BRECKENRIDGE – The Early Longhorns and Lady Horns earned a combined nine berths in the Region I-3A track and field meet based on their Thursday efforts at the 7-3A/8-3A meet.

The Lady Horns secured six spots as Grey Pruitt won the high jump (5-0), while Ellie Shea in the discus (115-11), Matty Boswell in the 100-meter hurdles (15.71), and Jamie Vassar in the shot put (38-9.75) each finished second. Advancing with fourth-place efforts were Kelcy Simpson in the high jump (4-10) and Jenna Hataway in the long jump (16-1.75).

Three Longhorns punched tickets to the regional round as Andrew Caten was second in the long jump (22-4.25), while Dylan Brame in the discus (135-8) and Camden Myers in the high jump (6-4) both came in third.

The top for finishers from each area event advance to the Region I-3A meet, which will take place at Abilene Christian University’s Elmer Gray Stadium on April 19-20.
