KOXE/KBWD’s 48th Annual Cherry Pie Auction Slated For April 20th

The 48th annual KOXE/KBWD Cherry Pie Auction is slated for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20th at the Adams Street Community Center.

Started in 1977 by Dallas Huston and Bill Jamar, the Cherry Pie Auction benefits youngsters who participate in Brownwood Freshman League Baseball, the Brownwood Girls Softball Association, Cen-Tex Soccer, and Soccer for Fun.

More than 1,500 boys and girls participate, and every penny raised goes directly to those youth sports programs.

As in years past, items up for bid will include pies, cakes, and additional baked goods, as well as sports memorabilia and goods and services provided by area businesses.

Some of the items up for bid this year include:

  • Adolis Garcia autographed World Series photo
  • Texas Rangers 2023 World Series Collage
  • Pudge Rodriguez autographed Hall of Fame baseball
  • Tiger Woods Masters Collage
  • Taylor Swift Autographed Album
  • Hank Williams Jr Autograph Guitar
  • Rise Up Country Guitar with autographs from 20+ Country Artists
  • Bob Lilly Autographed Jersey
  • Bobby Witt Jr. Autographed Royals Jersey
  • Lion’s VIP Football game package- watch a home game from the sidelines and go in the locker room with the players & coaches
  • (4) Texas Rangers tickets to the home game of your choice
  • Much, much More!

There will be free ice cream provided by Pop’s Ice cream truck again this year as well as hot dogs and face painting for the kids.   The Brownwood Lion’s mascot has also promised to make an appearance.
