MILES – The Bangs Lady Dragons remained undefeated in the District 6-2A softball standings with a 12-2 road victory over Miles Tuesday.

Bangs (15-8, 7-0) scored two runs each in the first and second innings and eight more in the third, while Miles mustered a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth.

The Lady Dragons drew 10 walks, took advantage of five Miles errors and recorded six hits – a pair of doubles from Abby Wolf and two singles from Neeley Bradley and one apiece from Cheyenne Rush and Julianna Ethridge. Wolf also led the way with two RBIs while Rush, Bradley and Emily Baker were credited with one RBI each.

In the circle, Wolf tossed all four innings and yielded two runs on a pair of hits with four strikeouts.

May Tigers 16, Gorman 2

GORMAN – The May Tigers improved to 6-1 on the season with a 16-2 victory at Gorman Tuesday.

Trailing 1-0 after one inning, the Tigers opened an 8-1 lead in the second inning. Gorman scored again in the third inning before May tacked on five runs in the fourth and three more runs in the fifth inning.

The Tigers drew 15 walks, were aided by three Gorman errors and notched eight hits – two each by Brody Stice and Hunter Seider and one apiece from Lane Goodson, Hagan Hester, Jackson Lusk and Kayden Psencik. Goodson and Psencik led the way with two RBIs apiece and one each from Seider, Stice, Cayson Dail, Kaden Watkins, and Daegan Foster.

On the mound, Dail and Goodson teamed up to allow two earned runs on four hits with eight strikeouts and three walks over five innings.

Bangs Dragons 12, Goldthwaite Eagles 0

GOLDTHWAITE – The Bangs Dragons improved to 5-1 in District 7-2A baseball action and 11-7 for the season with a 12-0 road victory over the Goldthwaite Eagles Tuesday.

Leading 1-0 after one inning, the Dragons put the game by scoring 11 runs against Goldthwaite (3-11, 1-6) in the top of the third inning.

The Dragons drew nine walks, took advantage off four errors and collected six hits – two by Brody Newton and one apiece by Skylar Minshew, Zack Ferguson, Aden Jones and Devean Greaves. Minshew hit a grand slam and drove in five runs, while Kade Minshew and Brayden Gatlin were credited with two RBIs apiece and Hunter Crowell knocked in a run.

On the mound, Kenny Cole, Hunter Newton, and Crowell combined to give up one hits with eight strikeouts and two walks.

Early Lady Horns 27, Dublin 10

DUBLIN – The Early Lady Horns moved to 3-6 in District 8-3A softball action and 6-16 on the season with a 27-10 road victory over Dublin Tuesday night.

The Lady Horns led 8-5 after one inning, 12-5 after two, 16-9 after three, 23-4 after four innings, and the game ended after five frames.

Early finished with 15 hits and was aided by a dozen Dublin (1-16, 0-9) errors.

Marissa Reedy finished with four hits – including a home run and a double – and seven RBIs; Aleeya McCombs added four hits – including a double – and six RBIs; Gabby Leal recorded five RBIs with one hit; Stoney McLaughlin chipped in two hits; Sydney Greaves, Jamie Vassar, and Rylee Tupin notched one hit and one RBI apiece; Katlyn Cates tallied a hit; and Emilee Wallace and Hallie Thornberry recorded an RBI.

In the circle, Leslee Beard pitched all five innings and gave up three earned runs on seven hits with one strikeout and six walks. The Lady Horn defense committed five miscues.
