GATESVILLE – In their final action prior to the District 6-4A tournament in Glen Rose April 10, the Brownwood High tennis team earned gold and silver medals, along with a consolation championship, at the Gatesville tournament Thursday.
River Prado captured the boys singles championship and also notched his 100th career victory. In girls doubles competition, Claire Meinecke and Ashlyn Bundick reached the final and placed second. Meanwhile, the boys doubles team of Tyler Mitchell and Wesley Goodrich overcame an early loss to earn the consolation title.
Brownwood competed against the likes of Killeen Ellison, Waco University, Salado, San Saba, China Spring, Copperas Cove and Gatesville.
