Fishing Reports 3/27/24

The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of March 27:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water stained; 65 degrees; 8.61 feet below pool. Black bass are excellent with catches up to 8.30 pounds on jerkbaits, chatterbaits, topwaters and crankbaits in 3-8 feet of water. Bass are in a pre-spawn mid lake, and starting to get on beds on the lower end. Crappie are excellent, suspended in 10-12 feet of water on brush piles in the cove pocket on black and chartreuse jigs or minnows. Some fish are spawning in 1-4 feet of water. White bass are good on crankbaits. Catfish are slow on cut or prepared bait around baited holes.

LAKE CISCO

GOOD. Water stained; 58 degrees; 11.52 feet below pool. Channel catfish are good off the bank. Crappie are good off the docks with many undersized catches. Largemouth bass are good. Reports of good sand bass catches on the northwest side of the lake off a dock. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.

LAKE COLEMAN

SLOW. Water stained; 55 degrees; 9.19 feet below pool. Fishing patterns are holding steady the first week of spring. Crappie are good on jigs at the docks.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

GOOD. Water stained; 63 degrees; 31.25 feet below pool. Bass are good in 2-5 feet of water on spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. Females are close to spawning. White bass are moving up the rivers hitting rattletraps, and squarebill crankbaits. Crappie are scattered but starting to move shallow biting crappie minnows or jigs. Catfish are moving shallow to 5-10 feet of water biting shrimp, cut shad and earthworms. Main lake 58 degrees and clear, up the river is 61 degrees and stained. LAKE PROCTOR

GOOD. Water normal stain; 65 degrees; 12.10 feet below pool. Reports of decent size catfish and crappie catches near the dam. Largemouth bass can be caught on soft plastics. Ramps are closed. It is possible to launch a boat from the gravel at Buffalo Springs.
