Lions golf team, Reagan earn additional tournament titles at Glen Rose

GLEN ROSE – In their final outing prior to the District 6-4A tournament, the Brownwood Lions golf team secured the team championship at the Dinosaur Invitational at Squaw Valley Tuesday.

The Lions captured their fourth tournament championship of the spring by shooting a 305 composite score, three strokes better than runner-up Plano Coram Deo Academy (308). Other District 6-4A foes at the tournament included fourth-place Stephenville (324) and seventh-place Glen Rose (340).

Individually, Hudson Reagan earned another championship as well with a round of 72, two shots better than Jagger Nees (74) from District 6-4A rival Graham.

Sir Bubba Jones and Cobe Walker finished in a tie for eighth place with rounds of 77 followed by Caleb Modawell in ninth place with a 79 and Peyton Sharp with a 91. Competing as a medalist, Will Stewardson carded a round of 90.

The Lady Lions were also in action Tuesday as they finished fourth as team with a composite score of 384, trailing Glen Rose (361), Tolar (373), and Abilene High (374).

Tristyn Garcia posted a second-place round of 80 to pace Brownwood followed by a 98 from River Jones, a 102 from Riley Morton and a 104 by London England.

The Lions and Lady Lions will compete at the 36-hole, two-day district tournament March 25-26 at Diamondback Golf Course in Abilene.
