Hop on down to Coggin Park in Brownwood on Saturday, March 30 for the 14th Annual Great Easter Egg Hunt hosted by Wendlee Broadcasting, KXYL and KQBZ.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 pm, with the hunts — from pre-kindergarten to third grade — beginning at 11 a.m.

Wendlee Broadcasting General Manager Rex Tackett said The Great Easter Egg Hunt continues to grow each year and it is a family friendly event for the entire community.

“The 14th Annual Great Easter Egg Hunt is the biggest event for young children in Brown County. Eggs, candy, hot dogs, bounce houses, games and the Easter Bunny,” Tackett said. “What could be more fun?”

More than 25,000 pieces of candy are expected to be spread across Coggin Park, courtesy of United Supermarkets.

Local businesses, groups and organizations will set up booths and community volunteers and high school students will assist during the event.

“We couldn’t do all this without all of the volunteers. It isn’t just us,” Tackett said. “There are people from all over community that help.”

Along with the egg hunt, there will be inflatable bounce houses and slides, hot dogs, Dr. Pepper, a car show, and vehicles from the Brownwood and Early Police Departments, Brownwood Fire Department, and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office on display. There will also be lawn mower races and classic cars courtesy of the Heartland Cruisers.

The Easter Bunny will be on hand with a photo area available for pictures.

“Come on out and have some fun with us,” Tackett said.

KXYL Newstalk 102.3 FM and KQBZ-FM 96.9 FM The Breeze will be broadcasting live from the event.
