Lady Lions, Lions blank Little River Academy to close out soccer regular season

LITTLE RIVER ACADEMY – The playoff-bound Brownwood Lady Lions scored one goal in their regular season finale Tuesday, but that’s all they needed for a 1-0 victory over Little River Academy in the District 5-4A soccer finale.

Kynlie Lewis scored the game’s only goal for Brownwood (14-8-1, 6-6), which will be the No. 4 seed out of 5-4A for the playoffs and face District 6 champion Waxahachie Life at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 in Mineral Wells.

Between now and then, the Lady Lions are scheduled to visit Marble Falls on Wednesday, March 20 in a playoff warm-up game

Lions 8, Little River Academy 0

LITTLE RIVER ACADEMY – The Brownwood Lions ended their season on a positive note – with a second straight victory, 8-0 at Little River Academy Tuesday.

Junior Martinez scored three goals, Colton McMillian chipped in a pair, and Caden Carnes, Crystan Villarreal and Raven Prado added one goal apiece for Brownwood.

The Lions finished the season with a 7-10-1 overall record and 5-7 mark in district competition.
