The Lady Dragons led 2-0 after one inning, 3-0 after two and 4-0 through three innings. After Miles scored two runs in the top fourth, Bangs reeled off eight runs in the bottom of the frame, and retired the Lady Bulldogs in order in the top of the fifth, to enforce the 10-run mercy rule.

Bangs collected eight hits – two each by Neeley Bradley, Mattisyn Taylor and Justice Baker, and one apiece by Abby Wolf and Emily Baker – while drawing five walks and being aided by five Miles errors. Taylor also recorded a pair of RBIs while Bradley, Wolf, Julianna Ethridge and Jadyn Miller notched one RBI each.
