Spring is already bustin’ out at the Brownwood Art Center, with a Members Exhibit and Artist Demonstrations scheduled for March.  The Members Exhibit opens with a First Thursday reception on March 7 from 5-7 pm, at 215 Fisk.  This event is free and open to the public.

Exhibit Coordinator Kristen Stanke says there’s a good variety of different media to enjoy.  “It’s always a pleasant surprise to see how much talent we have right here.  There are paintings, pastels, fiber art, woodwork, ceramics, and assemblage.”

Two free demonstrations at the Art Center are also free and open to the public.  The B.A.A. Fiber and Textile Arts group will host Joan Stewart at their regular meeting Tue. March 5, from 2-3 pm.  Joan will be demonstrating creating background fabrics and designs with resist methods.

Tuesday, March 12, at 6 pm, local gel and texture artist Joy Ferguson will introduce gel printing, how to use the gel plate, and some ways to use all the beautiful papers you create.

These demonstrations are for all artists, especially curious artists, and all members and supporters of the Brownwood Art Association.  The March Members exhibit will be on display through March 22.  Gallery hours are 2-6 pm weekdays.  For more information, find the BAA on Facebook, visit the BAA website, brownwoodart.net, or call 325-641-2916.
