A job fair will be held on March 6 at the Brownwood Depot Civic Center from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

As a large industrial employer in the community for more than 50 years, the plant employs more than 200 people and produces high-quality tread rubber used in truck tire retreading. In May 2023, Bridgestone announced an investment of $60 million to expand its Bridgestone Bandag manufacturing plant in Abilene. The 50,000-square-foot expansion of the Abilene plant is aimed at the growing demand for the company’s tread rubber products, driven by the rapid growth of its retread business.
