The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Monday afternoon:

On Saturday, February 24, 2024, at approximately 4:15 a.m. officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 3500 block of Rhodes Rd. regarding a report of a domestic.

When officers arrived, they met with two female victims and a male suspect. The females explained that they were riding in a vehicle with 24-year-old Kevin Dean Holland, of Brownwood, when he became violent. Both females have previously been in a relationship with Holland, and one female has a child with him. While in the vehicle, Holland began arguing with the child’s mom about a recent CPS case. The argument turned physical when Holland began pulling the hair of both females and arguing with them about the situation.

A short time after this, they arrived at a residence to calm down. They then returned to the vehicle and Holland sat in the back seat. He then became angry again and began choking the mother who was sitting in front of him. They continued to the apartment complex where they all live.

At the conclusion of the interviews, Holland was arrested for Assault Family Member/Impeding Breathing, Simple Assault against a Family Member, and Continuous Violence against a Family Member.
