ROC 2024 Black History Youth Spotlight : Morsello Hooker

Morsello Hooker 18 years old

Senior Brownwood High School

Parents: Morsello and Jeina Hooker

About: a multi sport athlete: football, basketball and track.

Morsello is a two time first team all district Cornerback, academic all district, FCA Allstar, big country blitz best of the rest defensive back.

He loves working with the youth community by spending his free time helping kids work on perfecting there football skills and mentoring along the way. Morsello loves children and many look up to him. He loves being involved in the Little Lion program where he gets to be a big bother to the littles. Morsello also helps in the youth sports by referee games on the weekends.

Morsello earned a scholarship at Tarleton State University for football where he will continue his football career and academic studies. He plans on studying kinesiology and wants to be a coach in the future. Morsello aspires to be able to give back in his community one day by helping in their recruiting process, educating students the importance of academics, and leading leaders through diversity and inclusion.

What it means to me: Always strive for greatness but when you learn to be better, do it. Knowledge is power but nothing if you don’t use it.
