Brown County Sheriff’s Report: Feb. 13

  • On Friday, February 9, 2024, Deputy Toby Mathis, spoke with an individual by phone, in regard to criminal mischief, at CR 123. The individual advised his tractor had been damaged. Information was gathered and a report was made.
  • On Friday, February 9, 2024, Deputy Toby Mathis, responded to Buckhorn Rd, for a report of an animal at large. A puppy was running on the caller’s property and was returned to its home. The dog owner was issued a dog prohibited from running at large, due to the ongoing issue.
  • On Friday, February 9, 2024, at approximately 6:42 p.m. deputies were dispatched to Highway 183 S at the Mills County line, for an agency assist with a pursuit involving a suspect who just completed an armed robbery, in Lometa. An attempt was made to spike the vehicle as it entered Brown County but was unsuccessful. Deputies lost sight of the vehicle once it entered Early. A citizen gave an updated location of the vehicle, which blacked out behind the Early Police Department. The suspect was taken into custody, who was wearing rubber gloves, and had a small caliber weapon on him.
  • On Friday, February 9, 2024, at approximately 8:39 p.m. Deputy Thomas Beloat, with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Main Street, in Blanket, regarding a domestic. Pertinent information was gathered, two arrests were made, and a report was completed.
