Joseph Patrick Mosier, 82 of May, TX passed away Sunday January 28th at home with family and friends.

Joe was born the only child of Pete and Winona (Allen) Mosier in Houston, TX May 16th, 1941.

As a young man, he served his country in the army and was a Vietnam veteran.

Joe learned to fly as a teenager and spent many years working as a crop duster.  While pursuing higher education, Joe worked as a professional fundraiser for the Boy Scouts of America in the late 70s and early 80s.  He earned his master’s degree in biology and public speaking.

Joe shared his love of flying with many people, including his children, as a flight instructor.  He managed a flight school in Loveland, TX and later in Grand Prairie, TX.

When Joe became an airport manager in Carthage, TX he had found his niche.  Joe moved his family to Brady, TX in the summer of 1998.  He served the city of Brady as airport manager, emergency manager, floodplain manager and grant manager before retiring in 2018.

Joe was proceeded in death by his parents: Louis Paul “Pete” Mosier and Winona Allen Mosier; his wife: Beth McDonald Mosier and his daughter: Sarah Beth Ford.

Joe is survived by his children: Jon Mosier of TX, Elizabeth Coleman and husband David of CA, and Deborah Weinkauf of TX. Also, his grandchildren: Doniven Weinkauf, Zakkery Weinkauf, Stanley Weinkauf, Kaitlynn Coleman, and Amelia Coleman.

The family will be hosting a gathering for family and friends at Life Church, 1910 Indian Creek Rd. Brownwood, TX Sunday February 4th at 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation to Solaris Healthcare or a local charity of your choice.
