Thelma Idotha ‘Dodie’ Shaw

Thelma Idotha “Dodie” Shaw 93, passed away in Stephenville on January 26, 2024. Visitation will be Saturday February 3, 2024 at Heartland Funeral Home of Comanche from 2:00-4:00 pm. Funeral services will be Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 2:00 pm at First Methodist Church in Comanche.

Dodie was born in Lampasas, Texas to Willie Bartlett Daniels and Alice Ray (Logan) Daniels on July 24, 1930. She married John Orville Shaw on June 14, 1947 at Ogles Methodist Church in Lampasas, Texas. Together they raised their children Ronnie, David, and Tanna in Comanche where Orville worked as a barber and Dodie worked as a Water Clerk for the City of Comanche.

She is survived by her husband, John Orville Shaw of Comanche, her brother Bill Daniels of Little Elm, her sister-in-law Mary Reid of Austin, her son Ronnie Shaw and wife Glenda of Pflugerville, her son David Shaw of Comanche and her daughter Tanna Tidmore and husband Bill of Dublin. Her grandchildren, Jennifer Myers, Brandy Shaw, Clayton Shaw and wife Allizza, Callie Hawthorne, Tasha Pack and husband Jeff, Michael Campbell, and Jeremy Shaw and wife Tara. She also has 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her father Willie Daniels, mother Alice Logan, daughter Deborah Shaw, brothers Logan Daniels and Joe Daniels, sister Ann Shelton, sisters-in law Marilyn Daniels and Diane Daniels

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First Methodist Church in Comanche, Texas.
