Beginning Mon., Jan. 29, 2024, lane closures will occur at two major intersections in Brownwood in advance of paving efforts.

US 67 WB at US 377 (Commerce Street at Clements and Main, near CVS): Milling will be performed on the right lane of US 67 WB and on multiple lanes of Clements Street beginning Mon., Jan. 29. Paving will occur on Wed. – Thurs., Jan. 30-31, weather permitting. Multiple lane closures within this intersection will occur. To avoid delays, please use an alternate route.

FM 2524 at US 377 (Main and Austin): Beginning Thurs., Feb. 1, crews will begin paving various lanes of this intersection. Limits of the work extend from the Bill Monroe Overpass (Austin Ave.) to Booker Street and from the intersection south on US 377 to the Truman Harlow Overpass (US 377). Work will continue Friday, and again Mon. – Tues. the following week. Various lane closures will occur. To avoid delays, please use an alternate route. Lanes will be marked with tabs until the contractor is able to paint the pavement markings throughout the intersection.

In all work zones, motorists are reminded to use caution, obey speed limits and signage, avoid distractions, and watch for crews and equipment.

Work schedules are tentative. Follow TxDOT Brownwood District on Twitter (@TxDOTBWD), Instagram (txdotbrownwood), and on the Texas Department of Transportation’s Nextdoor profile for transportation news and updates.
