Guy Robert Sikes, devoted father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2024, at Hendrick Medical Center South in Abilene, Texas. Born on April 11, 1961, in Coleman, Texas, Guy lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a passion for his family.

Throughout his life, Guy was known for his incredible talent as a handyman. Whether it was working in the oil fields, showcasing his skills as a talented painter, or repairing appliances, Guy demonstrated a remarkable ability to solve any problem that came his way. His dedication and expertise brought comfort and convenience to many.

Beyond his professional achievements, Guy had a heart of gold. He had a genuine passion for cooking and took immense pleasure in preparing delicious meals for his family and friends during numerous barbeques and gatherings. His sense of humor and contagious laughter brightened the lives of those around him, as Guy had a knack for storytelling and entertaining others with his jokes and anecdotes.

Guy is preceded in death by his mother and father, Sandra Jean Sikes and Robert Gayle Sikes.

He leaves behind his wife, Kelli Sikes; his children, Michael Stephenson and wife Lendsae, Bill Sikes and wife Brittany, Franklin Sikes and wife Mindy, Zachary Sikes, Savanna Metzger, and Gary Sikes and wife Samantha Bounds; his sister, Gay Gordon and husband Quannah; numerous grandchildren; and caretakers, Benda Sikes and James Sikes.

In honor of Guy’s life and the impact he had on so many, a graveside service will be held on January 29, 2024, at two o’clock in the afternoon at Valera Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Howell officiating. Family, friends, and acquaintances are invited to attend the ceremony and share their fondest memories of Guy.

Though his loss leaves a void in our lives, Guy’s legacy of love, generosity, and laughter will forever live on in our hearts. As we gather to bid farewell to this remarkable man, let us remember the light he brought into our lives and find solace in the cherished moments we shared.

The family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in memory of Guy by made to the American Cancer Society at www.donate.cancer.org or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.

We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Sikes family by signing the guestbook on Guy’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Sikes family.
