Melanie Carol Hallford, age 64, of Bangs, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

Melanie was born in Athens, Alabama on January 20, 1959, to Velma (Brown) Perry and Paul Conrad Perry Sr. During her youth, Paul’s career led the family to several states resulting in their arrival in Boerne, Texas. While in Boerne, Melanie was an active member of the Boerne First Baptist Church youth group. She graduated from Boerne High School in 1977.

Melanie has a deep love for the Lord and through His guidance attended Howard Payne University where she achieved a bachelor’s degree in religious education. Melanie joined the HPU band playing the saxophone and built a plethora of friendships there and with the Boerne First Baptist Church youth group, that are still going strong today.

During her senior year at HPU she met Jimmy Don Hallford, and two hearts became one on December 2, 1983. They had 40 years of marriage and were blessed with their son Jacob Andrew Hallford on March 24, 2005.

Melanie was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Conrad Perry Sr., and Velma Perry; 2 infant siblings, Cynthia Karen, and John Phillip; brothers-in-law, Kirk Reagor and Robert Turner; as well as several aunts and uncles.

Melanie is survived by her husband, Jimmy Don Hallford; son Jacob Andrew Hallford; sisters, Kim Reagor and Jan Turner; brother Paul Perry Jr.; nephew, Michael Allen Perry; great nephew and niece Matthew, and Harper Perry.

Services for Melanie will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Bangs. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood. Online condolences can be made online at blaylockfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Charity of your choice.
