Georgia Ailene Childress

Georgia Ailene Childress, 83, of Comanche, passed from this earthly life January 21, 2024. The family has entrusted her funeral arrangements to Heartland Funeral and Cremation Services of Comanche. A graveside service to honor life will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 24, 2024, at Mount Olive Cemetery, Mills County, Goldthwaite TX with Harold Higginbotham officiating. The family will great friends for a visitation at the Heartland Funeral Home in Comanche, Tuesday the 23rd from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Georgia was born November 23, 1940, in Mills County Texas to John Leslie and Rosa Mae (Featherston) Kirby. She married Roy Childress November 9, 1958, in Trinity TX. Georgia was employed by the Western Hills Nursing Home as a Nurses’ Aide. She enjoyed spending her free time fishing, being with her grandchildren, and the animals. Georgia was a member of the Hasse Baptist Church.

Georgia is survived by her husband of 65 years, Roy Childress; sons, James Childress of Stephenville, and Michael Childress and wife Sherrie of Huntsville; grandchildren, Dala Childress and husband Cody, Kevin Childress and wife Michelle, Christen Childress, Brandon Kidwell, Nathan Kidwell and wife Tishi, John Anthony Naaz; 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father John Kirby and mother Rosa Kirby.
