Brownwood, Bangs Up in January Sales Tax; Early Down

In the sales tax allocations for January released by the Texas Comptroller’s office, Brownwood and Bangs enjoyed increases over January 2023, while Early received a decrease.  Bangs had the largest increase, in terms of percent.  Sales tax allocations received in January reflect taxable retail sales in November 2023.  Details below.

Brownwood

The City of Brownwood received $593,346 in January, up 4.17% over January 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date (October 2023 through January 2024) Brownwood has received $2,358,807, an increase of 2.18% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $197,917, up 4.86% over January 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date the Brownwood MDD has received $771,980, an increase of 2.43% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.

Early

The City of Early received $190,155 in January, down 14.52% vs. January 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date Early has received $827,597, down 12.40% compared to the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Early Municipal Development District received $62,650, down 14.82% vs. January 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date the Early MDD has received $270,777, down 12.37% compared to the previous fiscal year-to-date.

Bangs

The City of Bangs received $19,859 in January, an increase of 15.26% over January 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date Bangs has received $85,335, up 6.48% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Bangs Municipal Development District received $3,178, up 18.49% over January 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $12,483. up 0.35% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
