Phyllis Gilbreath

On January 8, 2024, Phyllis Ann Gober Gilbreath was called to her heavenly home to be reunited with a host of family and friends. Phyllis was 84 years old. She was born on August 14, 1939, to Annie Myrl Miller Gober and Robert Lee Gober. She grew up on a peanut farm in Holt, Texas. She graduated from Richland Springs High School in 1958. She was the oldest of six children.

She married Charles Ray Gilbreath on July 1, 1967. They were happily married for forty-two years until Charles Ray’s death in 2009.

Phyllis is survived by her sisters, Bonnie Gober Adams (and husband, Bill), Marsha Gober Larremore, and Glenda Gober Huff (and husband Joe).  She is also survived by one brother, Bryan Keith Gober.  She is survived by her nieces, Heather Adams Robles, Teresa Gober McAnally, and Amber Huff Willson.  She is also survived by her nephews, Seth Adams, Dustin Larremore, Neil Larremore, Michael Huff, and Guy Gober. She also has a number of great nieces and nephews.

Among those in heaven to greet her are her parents, Annie Myrl and Robert, her brother Robert Lee Gober, Jr, and brother-in-law Gary Larremore, as well as her husband, Charles Ray.     

Funeral services for Phyllis will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Cox Cemetery in McCulloch County.
