Mark Edwin Low, 65, of Abilene passed away peacefully on January 1, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at Elmwood Baptist Church 2933 South 7th Street Abilene, TX 79605 with Pastor Malcom Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 AM at the church. A patriot guard procession will take place to the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene

Mark was born in Brownwood, Texas to the late Joe Dale Low and Nelda Jane (Bodine) Low and was the oldest of the three sons. After graduating from high school in Brownwood, he joined the United States Navy and served faithfully and honorably from 1977 until 1983. While in the Navy he served on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) as a Data System Technician. After his military career he welcomed his beloved daughter, Jaime and son, Kevin into the world who he loved very much.

He continued his career with NCR in 2013 as a technician and transferred to Abilene in 2015. In 2021 he began working for FTSI a job he loved but retired in November 2023 due to his health.

He married the love of his life Irma Boyd in December of 2017, who he met at Northside Baptist Church. Together they went on to make many special memories. He was devoted to his spiritual life, always learning and growing for Christ. He was a student of Hebrew and had a great love for Israel. He was currently a member of Elmwood Baptist church and took any opportunity to share his faith and hope with others. He was charitable and the homeless held a special place in his heart. He also enjoyed watching college sports and was a devoted Cowboys fan. He enjoyed the simple things in life like playing card games, especially when he visited his mother. His legacy of faith, hard work and love will live on.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Irma Low; his daughter, Jaime Parks and her husband Dominic; his beloved granddaughter Izabella Parks; his son, Kevin A. Low; brothers, Michael Dale Low and wife Terrie, and Barry Joe Low and wife Kelly; his niece and nephews Matthew Low, Emily Low, and Scott Low; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and brothers and sisters in Christ.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Elmwood Baptist Church.
