Betty Jo Pierce

Betty Jo Pierce, age 95, of Bangs, Texas, passed away on January 2, 2024, in Bangs. She was born on October 20, 1928, in Bangs, Texas, to Lee Walker and Susie Rutledge.
Betty lived most of her life in Bangs, Texas, and was known for her unwavering faith. She was a devoted preacher’s wife for 65 years, supporting her husband Wallace Pierce in his ministry. Betty and Wallace were married on February 8, 1947, in Bangs, Texas.


She is survived by her loving children, son Bruce Pierce and daughter Pamela Pollock. Betty was also a cherished grandmother to Tarrah Lancaster, Farrah Moser. Toya Hass, and Christie Cone. Great grandchildren Sage Lancaster, London Lancaster along with two other great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Lee Walker, her mother, Susie Rutledge, her husband, Wallace Pierce, her son Wallace (Wally) Pierce, and her brothers Ira Walker and Cecil Walker.

 

She was also preceded in death by her sisters Edna White, Mattie Alley, Odessa Clark, Martha Buske, and Dorothy Englert.

Betty was a faithful member of the 1st Baptist Church in Bangs, Texas, where she found solace and community throughout her life.


A visitation will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, from 12-2pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 2pm at Davis-Morris Chapel in Brownwood, Texas.
