Jan Dansbee Coffey Schlee, age 59, of Corpus Christi, passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2023. A memorial service for Jan will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Heartland Funeral Home in Early, Texas.

Jan was born to Doyle and Elsie Dansbee on November 15, 1964, in Texas City. Jan graduated from Wall High School and then earned an Associates Degree from Angelo State University. She spent most of her life helping children, working in Special Education as a Teacher Aide from 1992-2020. After moving from Brownwood to Corpus Christi, Jan began a new career as a realtor, working with Keller Williams Coastal Bend, from 2020-2023.

Jan loved spending time with her family, no matter what they were doing. She enjoyed going to the beach, being near the water and watching her favorite sports team (Hook ‘Em Horns). Jan adored her two dogs, Beau and Bella.

Jan is survived by her husband, Michael Schlee of Corpus Christi; her daughter, Kristen Coffey and Lisa of Aubrey; her son, Kolby Coffey and Jordan; her mother, Elsie Dansbee; her sister, Pam McCullough and husband Ronald of Early; a niece, Rachael Schlee; 4 nephews, Josh, Jacob and Jonathan McCullough and Daniel Feemster, as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

Jan was preceded in death by her father, Doyle Dansbee of Early and her sister, Karen Grozier of Lipan, Texas.

Jan’s family requests that memorial contributions be made to an organization that was special to Jan:
