Fishing Reports 12/27/23

The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of December 27:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water stained; 53-56 degrees; 8.73 feet below pool. Black bass are good with catches up to 7.39 pounds caught by suspending jerkbaits in 12-15 feet of water and crankbaits around the shoreline in 2-8 feet of water. Crappie are slow around the docks and brush piles on minnows in 10-15 feet of water. White bass are slow on crankbaits and small jigs. Catfish are slow on baited holes.

LAKE CISCO

FAIR. Water slightly stained; 60 degrees; 11.57 feet below pool. The weather is cooling off and the winds are picking up. Catfish are biting in 20 feet of water on goldfish or perch. Happy New Year! Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.

LAKE COLEMAN

SLOW. Water stained; 63-68 degrees; 9.00 feet below pool. Reeling in the new year with consistent fishing patterns. Bass are fair with chatterbaits and jigs tipped with a green pumpkin Hags Undertaker Jr. Crappie are fair with minnows suspended in 10-12 feet of water around trees and docks. White and hybrid bass are slow.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

FAIR. Water stained; 52 degrees; 30.30 feet below pool. Reeling in the new year with consistent fishing patterns. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on live bait or jigs. Largemouth are fair. As the lake level drops, be cautious of the trees. Report by Concho Park and Marina.

LAKE PROCTOR

FAIR. Water stained; 60 degrees; 12.86 feet below pool. As the nights become cooler, shallow bite will slow so target fish in mid depths. Bass can be caught slowly working crankbaits. Catfish can be caught drifting stink bait or cut bait. Crappie are hitting minnows and jigs in open water and on brush.
