Lions defeat host Brady, 53-40, to place third in tournament

BRADY – The Brownwood Lions on Saturday afternoon upended the host Brady Bulldogs, 53-40, to place third in the Brady tournament.

The Lions, who won their final three games of the weekend, opened an 18-9 lead after one period that drew to 32-20 by halftime and stood at 41-31 heading into the fourth quarter.

Brownwood – which avenged a 73-68 loss to Brady (7-5) from Nov. 20 – received 13 points from Morsello Hooker trailed by 11 each from Hayden Noe and Ike Hall, six from Casey Friebel, five each from Carson Noe and Weston Wolf, and two points from Grant Gray.

The Lions (7-8) return to the court at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Salado.
